It’s being reported that Micron CEO, Sanjay Mehrotra, has predicted that the short supply of DRAM will continue until 2022 but the shortage of NAND Flash will gradually improve.

Speaking at Computex 2021 Virtual, Mehrotra said that taking 5G mobile phones as an example, about 250 million units were sold globally last year, and research institutes estimate that it will double to 500 million units this year. In addition, the capacity of DRAM and NAND Flash installed in mobile phones is also increasing.

Micron is the world’s third largest DRAM and fifth largest NAND Flash manufacturer. The company has a global market share of more than 20% in the DRAM market and more than 10% of the global NAND Flash market.
